McKenzie Caps Memorable Season with PAA Outstanding Hitter Award Honor Monday, October 4th, 2021 2021 was a year to remember for Horace McKenzie and his outstanding efforts have garnered him the nod as the USPL Double A Outstanding Hitter Award winner. While it's not common for a pitcher to win this award, McKenzie couldn't be denied, with his strong season in which he posted a 18-4 mark in 26 starts. The Richland Rails ace pitcher threw 181 innings, had 148 strikeouts and had 78 walks, accounting for a 2.24 ERA. McKenzie held opposing hitters to a .247 batting average and compiled a 3.1 WAR. Marcos López of the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles finished second in voting, while Brad Cunnick of the Marquette Miners finished third. |
