5-Hit Blitz by Tacoma's Romero Tuesday, July 27th, 2021 Tony Romero told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Romero of the Tacoma Fur Traders did against the Belvedere Park Rawhides. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Rawhides, who suffered a 13-3 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Tony Romero tripled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In the 2021 season Romero is hitting .285 with no home runs. |
