Alonso Batters Tremont for 5 Hits Thursday, June 9th, 2022 No matter what the Tremont Doubledays threw at him today, José Alonso hit it. He easily handled Doubledays pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Lynx to a 14-3 triumph at Doubledays Stadium. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Tremont skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." José Alonso singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Alonso is presently hitting at a .306 pace with 4 home runs and 16 RBIs. He has played in 18 games and scored 10 times. |
