On a Roll: Rivas Hits for Cycle Thursday, May 26th, 2022 It was a game of mixed emotions for Francisco Rivas. He had just had one of the best games of his career -- he had hit for the cycle -- but his Alloway Halberds lost the game 8-6 to Hialeah at Ballpark of Alloway. "Normally when you have a great game like this, it makes you feel real good. But the loss takes some of it away." For the game Rivas collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, including a single, double, triple and home run, along with 4 runs batted in and 1 run scored. As a consolation prize Rivas also got a spot in the league record book. Francisco Rivas singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th. In the current season, Rivas has put up a .302 batting average with 19 hits, 1 home run, 7 RBI and scored 7 runs. |
