Aranda Cracks 5 Hits Monday, July 11th, 2022 What a day for Oliver Aranda of the Salt Lake City Buzz! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Tortolita pitching apart at Drummers Ballpark and sparked the Buzz to a 7-6 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Aranda told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Oliver Aranda grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Luis Ríos in the 8th, singled in the 9th, walked in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 12th. For the season Aranda has produced 35 hits in 115 at-bats for a .304 average with 6 home runs and gotten on base at a .396 clip. |
