League Gives Goodwin and Sánchez 4-Game Suspensions Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 Yesterday at The Strip Ron Goodwin and Carlos Sánchez got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Las Vegas Flamingos and Philadelphia 1776 BC. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified both ballclubs that Goodwin and Sánchez would be given 4-game suspensions for fighting. A look at his season totals shows Goodwin with 13 home runs, .295 BA, .384 OBP, 47 RBIs and 49 runs scored. This season in 17 starts Carlos Sánchez has a record of 9-2 with 96 strikeouts in 102.2 innings and a 2.81 ERA. |
