Ríos Chosen August's Best SA Hurler Thursday, September 1st, 2022 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Juan Ríos, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Syracuse Storm reliever, 21, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .149 average and walked away with the USSL Single A Pitcher of the Month award for August. Ríos posted a 2-0 mark and a 1.35 ERA in 12 relief appearances. In 13.1 innings, he had 8 saves, 24 strikeouts, and 9 walks. Ríos has 29 saves in 41 relief appearances this season with a 3-3 record and 1.82 ERA. |
