González Batters Sacramento Big Time Friday, June 18th, 2021 "It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Myrtle Beach catcher Pedro González said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 5-for-5 day against the Sacramento Whitecaps. "I got some good counts and used the whole field." However, his sensational day wasn't enough. The Whitecaps won the ballgame 11-10. The disappointed González said to reporters, "I guess you can't always have it all." He added, tongue in cheek, "I guess it's better to go 5 for 5 and lose than it is to go 0 for 5 and lose." Pedro González walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th. For the year González is hitting .444 with 1 home run. His stats include 9 runs batted in and 9 runs scored. |
