No Easy Feat: Pitcher Wins 3AA Outstanding Hitter Award Monday, October 4th, 2021 A pitcher being voted the most valuable player in his league is a rare feat, and this year it did indeed happen. The 2021 M3L Double A Outstanding Hitter Award has gone to Salem Misfits ace Travis Carson after a stellar 15-4 season. In 27 starts he piled up 213.1 innings, 143 strikeouts, 57 walks and a 2.49 ERA. Carson held opposing hitters to a .223 batting average and compiled a 3.7 WAR along the way. Carlos Kramer of the San Antonio BC finished second in voting, while Júlio Valentín of the Salem Misfits finished third. |
