5-Hit Game for Kimura
Sunday, May 30th, 2021
"It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Santa Barbara catcher Shojiro Kimura said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 5-for-7 day against the Tortolita Drummers. "I got some good counts and used the whole field." However, his sensational day wasn't enough. The Drummers won the ballgame 10-8. The disappointed Kimura said to reporters, "I guess you can't always have it all." He added, tongue in cheek, "I guess it's better to go 5 for 7 and lose than it is to go 0 for 7 and lose." Shojiro Kimura singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 9th, hit a two-run double in the 10th and flied out in the 13th.
Kimura is currently batting .333 with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 84 at-bats.
