Relief Star Wins SAAA Top Pitcher Honors Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 Artie Chávez is at the zenith of his career and today he was selected as the USSL Triple A Pitcher of the Month for August. He made no relief appearances for Tortolita last month, throwing 43.2 innings and collecting no saves, a 4-2 record, 30 strikeouts and a 4.12 ERA. This season Chávez has chalked up no saves, notched a 8-7 record with a 4.00 ERA, allowed 145 hits in his 132.2 innings of work, struck out 87 and walked 51. Opponents are hitting .287 against the Tortolita hurler. |
