Bakersfield Hurler Wins PAAA Outstanding Hitter Award Thursday, October 7th, 2021 For fans of the Bakersfield Nobles, there was certainly no doubting the value of Tomiji Saikawa this season. Now the 26-year-old pitcher has an award to show just how valuable he was, as he's been named the 2021 USPL Triple A Outstanding Hitter Award winner. His remarkable campaign saw him put up a 18-0 record. In 20 starts he piled up 165.1 innings, had 111 strikeouts with 48 walks and a 1.74 ERA. Saikawa held opposing hitters to a .220 batting average and compiled a 3.2 WAR. Emery Miller of the Bakersfield Nobles finished second in voting, while Jeff Sloan of the Bakersfield Nobles finished third. |
