Jacobs Spins Shutout Against Sunset District Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 Before the game Ed Jacobs liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Lake Monsters pitcher whitewashed the Sunset District Fog 6-0. Jacobs said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count." The Vermont starter held Sunset District scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 8 strikeouts and issuing no walks. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Fog manager said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose." Currently Jacobs has a 2-1 won-lost record in 5 starts with a 5.06 ERA. He also has 20 strikeouts in 32 innings. |
