Treatment Fails, Jorge Maestas's Career Over Thursday, October 7th, 2021 Sioux Falls center fielder Jorge Maestas has been diagnosed with torn ankle ligaments, an injury so severe that will end his baseball career. "It's very disappointing," Maestas told reporters today. "It was totally unexpected, which makes it a little bit harder to deal with." Doctors originally thought he would have a full recovery. The 21-year-old Maestas has been in treatment and reported he was making great progress, when things suddenly went sour. He told BNN, "It went from good to bad ... and then finally, to the worst case -- doctors said my career is over." |
