Murray Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, August 7th, 2021 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-7 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Chris Murray got one today. He scattered hits all over Pipers Ballpark to pace Gwinnett County to a 3-2 victory over Nebraska. The Nebraska skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Murray hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Chris Murray grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 10th, struck out in the 12th and hit an RBI single in the 14th. Thus far this year Murray has hit .335 with 5 home runs and 36 RBIs. |
