Another Setback for Gonzáles, Forced To Retire Sunday, October 31st, 2021 Walla Walla reliever Héctor Gonzáles has been diagnosed with a fractured coracoid bone in his shoulder, an injury so severe that will end his baseball career. "It's very disappointing," Gonzáles told reporters today. "It was totally unexpected, which makes it a little bit harder to deal with." Doctors originally thought he would have a full recovery. The 21-year-old Gonzáles has been in treatment and reported he was making great progress, when things suddenly went sour. He told BNN, "It went from good to bad ... and then finally, to the worst case -- doctors said my career is over." |
