Bender Pitches Bruins to Shutout Victory Saturday, August 28th, 2021 Everything clicked on the hill today for Don Bender of the Bellevue Bruins as he hurled his club to a 3-0 shutout win over the Provo Mango, limiting them to 3 hits while recording 10 strikeouts and yielding 2 walks. He overpowered some batters with his fastball and buckled knees with his sharp breaking pitches. "We had our shot at him a couple of different times," the Mango manager said, "but we weren't able to get to him." This year Bender has compiled a 6-9 record with a 2.84 ERA in 16 starts. |
