Rangel Tags Chiefs for 5 Hits
Friday, August 27th, 2021
It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Joaquín Rangel -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at The Big Teepee and paced the Storm to a 9-1 win over the Connetquot Chiefs. After his dynamite batting performance the Syracuse center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Joaquín Rangel singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
For the season Rangel has hit .219 with 10 home runs and 36 RBIs. He has played in 81 games and scored 42 times.
