5-for-5 Day for Alicea Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 Carlos Alicea exploded for a barrage of base hits today at The Cocoon. The Washington shortstop had a field day in the 11-4 triumph over the Grand Forks Caterpillars, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Alicea must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Carlos Alicea hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Juan García in the 6th and singled in the 7th. Thus far in 2021 Alicea is hitting .307 with 5 home runs, 36 RBIs, 22 runs scored and has compiled a .354 OBP. |
