Rails Medina Stops Mermen Tuesday, August 18th, 2020 "Bartolo Medina is really a good pitcher when he throws strikes early in the count," said his manager after the Richland hurler tossed a complete game 3-hit shutout against the Myrtle Beach Mermen. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Medina. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Medina walked 2 and struck out 10 in the 3-0 victory. To date, Medina has collected no saves in no relief appearances. He has rung up 74 strikeouts and 34 walks in 80.1 innings while registering a 3.92 ERA and a 2-4 won-lost record. |
