Hernández Collects Player of the Week Award Monday, September 14th, 2020 20-year-old Tony Hernández made a few Gurdon headlines during this past week as the rookie shortstop proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USSL Double A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 8 hits in 11 at-bats to put up a .727 average. Hernández collected 1 home run, 2 RBIs and scored 2 runs. For the season Hernández has produced 98 hits in 306 at-bats for a .320 average with 6 home runs and gotten on base at a .383 clip. |
