Drummers Conrad Smacks 5 Hits
Tuesday, September 1st, 2020
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Lonnie Conrad of the Tortolita Drummers. Conrad went on a tear at Whips Ballpark and cracked hit after hit off Pawnee pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond, the 24-year-old first baseman had a career 5-for-5 day and something he will long remember. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but I don't think I'll tell 'em we lost," he joked in the BNN postgame interview. Conrad got the accolades today, but the Pawnee ParksNRec walked off the field with a 4-3 win. Lonnie Conrad singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 10th.
Presently Conrad is batting .250 and has collected 18 home runs, 49 RBIs, .341 OBP and scored 48 runs.
