Johnson Holds Bloomington Hitless
Sunday, September 13th, 2020
Excitement reigned at the ballyard today as Alloway hurler Cole Johnson tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.
After defeating the Bloomington Longnecks at Lookouts Ballpark 11-0 he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.
"I'm just glad to be here. I want to help the club any way I can. Today I just went right at the Bloomington as hard as I could, as long as I could."
Johnson chalked up 2 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk in his superb performance.
The Alloway manager had his own analysis of the ballgame: "I don't think they could have hit him with a howitzer today."
In the current season in 30 starts, Cole Johnson has a record of 4-5 with 89 strikeouts in 149 innings and a 4.29 ERA.
