New Amsterdam's Gaudio Cops SL Best Manager Award Thursday, October 8th, 2020 Just about any objective fan of the New Amsterdam Republics would have to admit that Sal Gaudio is worthy of the Silver League Manager of the Year Award. But it wasn't that way at first. "In the beginning it was rocky," noted Gaudio, "The fans really gave it to me. Somewhere along the line we just began putting things together, picking up a win here and there, and morphing into a team--not just a bunch of guys doing their own thing." Gaudio paced the Republics to a second place finish in the Division II. New Amsterdam wound up the season with a 62-46 record. As for next year, Gaudio said, "We're always tweaking things, trying to improve the club. You don't rest after winning awards. I'm here to make the Republics a perennial powerhouse." |
