Las Vegas Whitewashes Lexington, Hoffman Winner
Friday, October 2nd, 2020
Before the game Randy Hoffman liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Flamingos pitcher whitewashed the Lexington Lemmings 1-0.
Hoffman said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."
The Las Vegas starter held Lexington scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 9 strikeouts and issuing 2 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Lemmings manager said in his postgame interview.
"When that happens, you usually lose."
This year Hoffman has pitched 45.2 innings over no relief appearances, picking up no saves and held opponents to a .277 average. Hoffman has a 2-5 record with a 4.73 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
