Hubbard Goes on Rampage Against Retrievers Monday, September 21st, 2020 If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. David Hubbard showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Northern Virginia Retrievers and helped the Vancouver Grey Wolves beat them 16-3. The manager for the Retrievers told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames." If Hubbard keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise. David Hubbard singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Hubbard is presently batting .270 with 10 home runs, 49 runs scored and 38 RBIs. His OBP is .368. |
