5-Hit Blitz by Mercer Island's Flores Monday, August 19th, 2019 All game long Mercer Island's Vincente Flores was rattling the walls at Mercer Island Grounds and banging out base hits against the Westwood Sixshooters. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Screaming Eagles had a 9-8 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 19-year-old catcher said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Vincente Flores singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. To date, Flores has collected 63 hits for a .326 average. He has posted 4 home runs, scored 29 runs and driven in 30 runs. |
