Kichida Outstanding, No-Hits Surf Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 Hirokichi Kichida was unhittable today as he beat the Surf 2-0. The Lannister United pitcher breezed through the Huntington Beach lineup and got himself a no-hitter. Kichida had them talking to themselves as he struck out 9 and issued no walks in an outstanding performance at Lionheart Field. His catcher said to reporters after the game, "He started off slow. He didn't have command of anything in the first three innings, but lucked his way through them. The Surf really helped him out by not being patient... they hit a lot of first pitches. Then it all came together in the fourth. From there on, the Surf never had a chance. He dominated them." This season Kichida has been credited with no saves. In no relief appearances and 101.1 innings he has a 10-3 won-lost mark, a 2.84 ERA and 113 strikeouts. |
