5-5 Day for Wilson Monday, September 30th, 2019 What a day for Jerry Wilson of the Royse City Targaryens! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Jersey City pitching apart at Royse City Stadium and sparked the Targaryens to a 13-5 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Wilson told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Jerry Wilson hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Joseph Reed in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 7th and singled in the 8th. This year Wilson is batting .312 with 13 home runs and 58 RBIs. In 55 games he has scored 37 times. |
