5-Hit Barrage by Díaz Monday, September 2nd, 2019 The Humpbacks whipped the Hotspur Reserves 15-6 at Field of the Serpents and Javier Díaz had a big hand in the win. The Humpbacks left fielder came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Díaz and a tough day for Phoenix. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Díaz delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league. Javier Díaz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Thus far this season Díaz is hitting .315 with 6 home runs, 41 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 116 hits in 368 at-bats and has played in 84 games. |
