Dempsey Hitless, Streak Ends at 20 Sunday, July 21st, 2019 Barry Dempsey's 20-game hitting streak was snapped today at Cayuse Ballpark. The 23-year-old Belugas catcher failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats in the game with the Gryfindor Braves, but Brinkley came out the winner, topping them 5-3. One of his teammates told BNN, "The streak was no big deal to Barry. He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames. That's the bottom line." For the season, Dempsey is hitting at a .353 clip with 13 home runs, 56 RBIs and has scored 40 runs. He has 78 hits, 18 walks and a .405 on-base percentage. |
