Rogers Belts 5 Hits Thursday, July 4th, 2019 Today the Belugas downed the Dodos 16-6, but Alvin Rogers did his best to avoid that outcome as he lashed hits all over Dodos Ballpark in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," the Hialeah first baseman said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter." Asked if he had a hitting philosophy, Rogers said, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of good pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Alvin Rogers singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Angel Gómez in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Rogers is batting .351 with 53 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 26 times and has batted in 27 runs. |
