BC-Colt .45s Fight Nets 3-Game Suspensions Monday, September 16th, 2019 Bad blood could be brewing between the BC and the Colt .45s. In yesterday's contest at Lone Star Grounds, Lone Star's Virgil Eberle and Houston 1837's Ricardo Martínez caused the benches to empty when they went toe-to-toe against one another. Only Eberle and Martínez were ejected by the umpires. Upon hearing that the two players had been suspended 3 games each by the league office, harsh comments came from both clubhouses. League officials have warned both organizations about the consequences of premeditated retaliation. So far this season Eberle is hitting .313 with 16 home runs, 69 RBIs and 68 runs scored. He has 120 hits in 383 at-bats and a .397 OBP. This season Martínez has made 24 relief appearances with 2 saves. In 32.2 innings he has fanned 23 hitters and recorded no wins and 1 loss with a 3.31 ERA. |
