Star of the Week Awarded in 3L Monday, August 19th, 2019 Kingston Township Legion 9 first baseman Akihiko Oike walked away with the Third League Player of the Week Award today after putting up some impressive numbers over the past seven days. "The Legion 9 fans are really behind me right now," said the 28-year-old. "That helps. They give you the confidence to go out there and do better." Oike batted .400 (10-25) with 2 home runs and 8 RBIs this week on his way to the award. This season Oike is batting .286 with 79 hits, 13 home runs, 59 RBIs, 47 walks, .405 OBP and has scored 48 runs. He has played in 76 games. |
