Sáenz Raps New Amsterdam for 5 Hits Sunday, September 1st, 2019 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Emílio Sáenz got one today. He scattered hits all over Athletics Park to pace Athletic Club KC to a 15-2 victory over New Amsterdam. The New Amsterdam skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Sáenz hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Emílio Sáenz hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Michael Rondeau in the 7th. Sáenz is currently hitting at a .236 pace with 16 home runs and 52 RBIs. |
