It's Jim Eliott, this year's Premier League Gold Ball selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Eliott compiled a 14-3 record in 21 starts, tallied 224 strikeouts in 173.1 innings and recorded a 1.40 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .174 batting average against him.Ramón Ortega of the Brooklyn Dodgers finished second in voting, while John Kaufman of the Brooklyn Dodgers finished third. |
