Dyer Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Buckhead Sunday, August 4th, 2019 The Grafton Middies won the game 4-3 over the Buckhead Bowties. At the same time the Bowties mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 21-game hitting streak of Middies left fielder Tony Dyer. But that was still not enough to win the game. "Our pitchers might have focused a bit too much on stopping Dyer," the Buckhead manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Middies have other hitters, and they did their job today." Hitting .390 to date, Dyer has 6 home runs and 28 RBIs. He has played in 53 games. |
