3B Salas Given 3-Game Suspension Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 Richland Rails third baseman Valentín Salas was suspended 3 games by the league commissioner today, a day after arguing his ejection during a game against the Leupp Arrowheads. "I think the 3 games are a little harsh," Salas said. He was ejected by plate umpire for arguing balls and strikes. After his ejection, Salas went into the dugout, then came back on the field, argued with the umpire and had to be restrained by coaches and teammates. The suspension was issued for "unbecoming conduct and returning to the field of play after being dismissed." In 28 games Salas is hitting .291 this season with 23 hits, no home runs, 13 RBIs, 8 walks, .364 OBP and has scored 12 runs. |
