2AAA Star of the Week Honored Monday, August 28th, 2017 In the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Bernalldo Bessa of Tortolita recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the League 2 AAA Player of the Week Award. "I've been playing since I was a kid," Bessa told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success." Bessa outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 4 home runs, and 11 RBIs to stake his claim to the award. Bessa's current batting average stands at .370 and he has chalked up 34 home runs and 105 RBIs. |
