5-Hit Blitz by Thomasville's Best
Thursday, July 26th, 2018
Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Thunderbirds Stadium when Keith Best of Thomasville scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves. He walloped 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Lookouts get by the Hotspur Reserves 10-0. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the right fielder of the Lookouts said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-6. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." Keith Best tripled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Robert Dickinson in the 9th.

Looking at his stats this year, Best has compiled a .301 batting average, while hitting 8 home runs and driving in 40 runs. He has played in 70 games and scored 51 runs.
