Castillo Spins 17-K Game Friday, July 27th, 2018 It was a very special game for Jorge Castillo today at Twins Ballpark in Corpus Christi. He had the perfect delivery. The good fastball. The nasty curve. The batters mumbling and muttering when they swung and missed. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it. In an unforgettable performance the 21-year-old Castillo fanned 17 strikeouts Buccaneers and sparked the Corpus Christi Twins to a 11-1 victory over Balboa. His catcher commented, "I don't think I have seen him throw better. His location and command were really something." In addition to his 17 strikeouts, Johnson allowed 4 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing. His manager added, "It's a manager's day off when you get pitching like that." The Balboa skipper had no comment. This season-to-date Castillo has 2 wins and 3 losses and a 4.08 ERA. |
