Cook Stretches Hit String to 20
Sunday, July 8th, 2018
The Dodos won the game today, but you would have been hard pressed to find anyone talking about it. The focus seemed to be on right fielder Herman Cook extending his hitting streak to 20 games by going 1-for-5 in the game.
"Sure we are happy that we won, but seeing Herman extend his streak was also special," said a jubilant Hialeah manager. "He's a special player who is capable of doing some amazing things at the plate."
For the record, the Dodos defeated the Wichita Outriders 13-7 at Dodos Ballpark. Herman Cook flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, walked in the 6th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
In 48 games this season Cook is batting .325 with 69 hits and 15 home runs. He has scored 48 runs and driven in 45.
