Smith Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Friday, July 14th, 2017 Dylan Smith really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Rapiers Ballpark, the Leupp catcher blistered the Durham Rapiers for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 5-0 victory. "Smith was too tough to get out today," the Rapiers skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Dylan Smith doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In 23 games this year Smith has posted a .280 average and put up these numbers: 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 9 runs scored. |
