Viola Snaps Young's Streak at 22
Monday, July 3rd, 2017
Augusta right fielder Rob Young experienced something against the Viola Spearheads he hadn't experienced in his last 22 games: a hitless game. The Spearheads pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Timber Hawks to a 10-3 victory at Spearheads Stadium.
"Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 22-game hitting streak. Now you sportswriters will have to find someone else to bother for stories," Young kiddingly told them after the game.
A look at his current stats shows Young with a .419 average, 6 home runs, 20 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 20 games.
