Gurdon Reliever Elbows His Way to UAA Award Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 A relief ace has been chosen the best pitcher in the USSL Double A in 2017. The top votegetter for the Outstanding Pitcher Award was Ken Carter of the Gurdon Pelicans, who finished the year with 2 saves in 12 save opportunities. He had 20 wins and 1 loss with a 3.69 ERA. Carter hurled 97.2 innings and totaled 124 strikeouts.Luis Fernández of the Gurdon Pelicans finished second in voting, while Bill Fletcher of the Gurdon Pelicans finished third. |
