August's UAA Top Pitcher is Pelicans Carter

Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Ken Carter, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Gurdon Pelicans reliever, 21, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .212 average and walked away with the USSL Double A Pitcher of the Month award for August.
Carter posted a 7-1 mark and a 3.56 ERA in 14 relief appearances. In 30.1 innings, he had 1 save, 41 strikeouts, and 19 walks.
So far this season Carter has worked 97.2 innings in 49 relief appearances with 2 saves. He has dished out 124 strikeouts and walked 39 with a 20-1 mark and a 3.69 ERA.
