Gilberto Patino Captures UAA Award Monday, July 17th, 2017 21-year-old Gilberto Patino made a few Huntington Beach headlines during this past week as the rookie catcher proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USSL Double A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 10 hits in 18 at-bats to put up a .556 average. Patino collected 1 home run, 3 RBIs and scored 2 runs. Patino is batting .304 with 5 home runs and 31 RBIs this season. |
