van Ham Tags Misfits for 5 Hits Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 It was a sensational day at the plate for Ingo van Ham as he led the charge to a 14-6 win over the Misfits. The Glenburn catcher was pure misery for the Salem pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Misfits told BNN reporters after the game, "van Ham put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Ingo van Ham walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Eric Holt in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. So far on the season van Ham is hitting .370 with 10 home runs, 33 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 37 hits and played in 27 games. |
