Mendoza Socks it to Baboons, Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, July 13th, 2017 Dan Mendoza exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Field of the Grasshoppers. The San Bernardino center fielder had a field day in the 7-6 triumph over the Glenburn Baboons, finishing with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Mendoza must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Dan Mendoza singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and was hit by a pitch in the 11th. Batting .302 to date, Mendoza has 4 home runs and 22 RBIs. |
