Gilliam Strokes 5 Hits Thursday, July 13th, 2017 It was a magical day at the plate for the Coasties John Gilliam. The 25-year-old third baseman helped lift Portsmouth to a 18-5 win over the Nortonville Cherokees today at Nortonville Grounds. Gilliam smacked 5 hits in 6 at-bats to spark his club to victory. John Gilliam hit a three-run home run off Richard Meyer in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. This year Gilliam is hitting .309 with 2 home runs and 12 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .385 clip and scored 15 runs. |
